It's been a while!!

Polar Express - Bryson City, NC

I had such great intentions for blogging, but I haven't done so well. The kids had a great Christmas, we went to ride the Polar Express in Bryson City, NC and the Higgins family went with us! We had a great time. Next time I hope we can stay a couple of days, one night just didn't seem to be enough. Nothing too exciting going on, Maisie has turned 5 and Mason just had his 4th birthday - where has the time gone??? I can't believe that they aren't babies anymore. Although I have to say, life is MUCH easier now than it was 3 years ago!! LOL

It snowed about a week ago and it was beautiful! The kids had a blast playing and building a snowman, actually watching Greg build the snowman. Mason decided that he would start digging a hole behind the snowman afterwards and we asked what he was doing. In typical Mason fashion he answered "making a toilet so the snowman has somewhere to pee pee and poop!" The he proceeded to tell us that he wanted to make some legs for him so he could "squat" and then he would loan the snowman his boots! What a little boy!! In the meantime, Maisie just kept talking about how beautiful the snow made everything look. What a difference in boys and girls!

Braves Game

Well, I am a little behind in posting, but over the summer we went to the Braves game with my sister Suzanne and her boyfriend Blake and we had a great time. This was the kids' first ball game and they thought it was the greatest. The kids got to run the bases in the kid zone and eat dip n dots ice cream. They each also got a new Braves ball cap that they love!! Thanks to Suzanne and Blake for inviting us to go!

More Beach Fun

Mason giving us that charming look he has!!

He loved finding those fish!

We had so much fun at the beach, it has taken me a long time to get everything back in order since we got back. Maisie had a great time finding sea shells with grandmommy almost every day! We met a very nice lady "Mrs. Frieda" who gave us lots of beautiful shells too. Mason had the best time "fishing" every day too. He love finding the "crabs" and stuffing them into his water bottle. Lots of pictures to share:)

Last Day at the Beach

Grandmommy, Maisie & Mason

Today is our last day at the beach, I will have to post pictures later. We have had a fabulous three weeks at the beach this year. The kids have had a blast and I have really been able to relax this year. I feel for Greg though, he only had a week here with us. Hopefully he'll get a little longer next year. The kids are ready to get home and see their new kitty and ride their jeeps! I am sure it won't take them long to get over to Nonnie and Paw Paw's either. Mason was so tired that he fell asleep at dinner tonight and Maisie could have. :)

Maisie has had the best time looking for seashells.

Mason was having a blast riding the boogie boards and loves to turn it around the wrong way:)

I can never seem to get them to both smile and open their eyes at the same time!

Shannon and I after being out in the heat.
We are having a great time at the beach, but I would like to ask everyone to please pray for my sister-in-law, Jamie, she has found out that her breast cancer has returned and will be going for test soon to find if it has spread anywhere else in her body. She is truly one of the strongest women I know, but is just isn't fair that she has to go through this again!
The beach is so much fun this year. This is the best time I've had in about 4 years, the kids are older and are able to enjoy the water and the sand. They are also both able to walk and carry thier own toys and items - it sure does help me out since Greg isn't down here yet. We are all very excited that he comes in tomorrow night. I think he's even excited that he's coming in. Two weeks is a long time!

Blogging day 1 - Beach

Well, I am very new to this, but everytime I read my friend Adrienne's blog, I always think this would be great to do, so here goes.
We are spending our usual time at the beach this summer and it has been a great time. The kids are so much easier this year and are really having a blast! We are just waiting on Greg to get here, there is just no way he can come all 3 weeks with us.
Today was a great day, we are loving the beach. We met a nice couple with a 12 week old baby, it is so hard for me to remember my babies at that age already, I can't imagine years from now. I am learning each day that my son is going to be the class clown and loves to entertain people. The man we met was talking to Mason and asked him what his name was, in typical Mason fashion, he shrugs his shoulders and scrunches up his nose and says "I don't know". So the man asked again and this time he says "2". I am standing by listening and hear Mason tell the man he is 2 years old, so at this point I decided to help out. He just started laughing and then tells the man his name is "Ma-ton" as he says it, and I explained he is 3, not 2. He ate up every second of the couple laughing at him. I think I have my hands full! My sweet little wild man!
Maisie on the other hand thankfully, is very cautious and aware of things. She loves to follow the rules and is an all around people pleaser. She is wise beyond her years, loves to learn and soaks up everything she hears and sees. Maisie told me the other day that she was so hungry she "be-voured" all her food and that Mason was "chowing down" on his chips and dip. I never know what she's going to say. She's my little sweepea!
